Networks

The NCDO is part of an international network of similar organisations that are also active in the field of global citizenship. The NCDO is dependent on intermediary organisations and networks for the execution of its educational programme. In other words: without them, global citizenship would not be integrated in education. Below you can find an overview of these national and international networks.

National

Worldconnectors: A cooperative effort by prominent and involved Dutch politicians, media figures, government employees, business people and social workers. Together they use their different perspectives to develop new strategies and visions for international issues. In doing so, they are inspired by the Earth Charter and the UN Millennium Declaration.

Move Your World: The NCDO’s youth project bureau.

KNAG: The Royal Dutch Geographical Society, the professional association for Geography teachers.

Vecon: The Dutch association of Economics teachers.

NVLM : The Nederlandse Vereniging voor Leraren Maatschappijleer (Netherlands Association for Social Studies Teachers).


International

North South Centre of the Council of Europe.

Global Education Network Europe (GENE): a European network of national agencies that supports, coordinates and/or funds global citizenship and international education in Europe.

Development Education Exchange in Europe Project (DEEEP): An initiative that works to increase the capacity of European NGOs to provide development education. DEEEP does so by exchanging methods and experiences, promoting networks, providing training courses and developing common principles and projects.

iEARN: A global cooperative network for NGOs, schools and businesses in international ICT projects.

Globalschoolnet: A source for global education and online project-based learning activities.

TakingITGlobal: a social network for global citizenship and IT, geared towards teachers and students.

Herodot: The European organisation for Geography teachers.

Association of European Economics Education

European Platform for Education in the Netherlands

eTwinning: The organisation for school partnerships in Europe.

Kleur bekennen: an organisation that promotes, stimulates and supports a global education and active global citizenship in the Belgian educational system.

BBC World Service Trust and Teach Global: Together they are an online tool for managing the teaching of the global dimension across the curriculum (in cooperation with DFID)'.
